This beautiful deer seems to be emerging from a dream. From a forest? Or a garden? Or from our subconscious? Deer is a very important symbol to me, full of gentleness and peace, living in harmony with the natural world. This deer is close to my heart, as she has taught me the power of soft gestures, of trusting, and of faraway vision. My usual play with color is seen here, though in a softer version.
As always, virtual images and various monitors do not do justice to the depth and vibrancy of the actual painting. All my paintings are varnished, and all sides painted (if not already framed).
