Mid-Century
6″x6″ Encaustic on cradled wood. (#23-01)
Currently showing at the Glaser Center, Santa Rosa, California, until May 31, 2024. Contact me for viewing hours.
Like the cool new jazz of the 1950’s, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and so many more innovators, this piece floats and dips and has rhythms going every which way. It’s the decade I was born into, and will always feel like home. This is a many-layered encaustic (wax) piece, with iridescence and texture.
As always, virtual images and various monitors do not do justice to the depth and vibrancy of the actual painting. All my paintings are varnished, and all sides painted (if not already framed).
