This is a recurring image from my dreams, weird pathways and buildings and fences and stairs and poles and wires and walls that keep turning into something else. Definitely the residual affect from my career as an architect, though I think I was dreaming these images from my earliest days. Is it Mexico, perhaps Morocco, or just a hot day in L.A.? It’s not a nightmare, but it is a mystery. And the random people who show up are always a strange surprise. These dreams are long and big, just like this painting. And then there is the GOLD. This piece has lots of iridescence. It’s both surreal and abstract, in the best of ways.
As always, virtual images and various monitors do not do justice to the depth and vibrancy of the actual painting. All my paintings are varnished, and all sides painted (if not already framed).
